INFINITI VIEWS

For this Luxury Should Be Lived In social campaign, we wanted to highlight just how adventurous and thrilling the act of driving can be. Rather than just producing a collection of your standard, exterior, inhuman, car beauty shots, we showed how beautiful the outside world looked like through an Infiniti's windshield + rearview mirror. By capturing glimpses of real life, humanity, and adventure that are inherent to our core belief - we would naturally reinforce luxury; it would be embedded into the beautiful - but relatable - photographs, themselves.

As a photographer and road-tripper (outside of work), this was my dream project. "Mimi, do you think you could do some research, plan an interesting route somewhere in America, drive a brand spankin' new Infiniti QX60 around for a week and take some nice photos? Cool. Just tell us your budget, show us your map, and you'll be off."

We drove over 1,000 miles in 2 1/2 days.

We covered urban scenes, beaches, vineyards, desert and state parks, we woke up at sunrise and went to bed after midnight. We stayed in weird Airbnb’s for 3 hours of sleep, ate grocery store rotisserie chicken for dinner one night, and LA’s ritzy Cafe Stella the next.

It was a weird, epic, exhausting, fun production with a creative that quickly became a very good friend. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.

THE ROUTE:

  • Los Angeles International Airport

  • Ventura

  • Santa Barbara

  • Pismo Beach

  • San Luis Obisbo

  • Cambria

  • Paso Robles

  • Ridgecrest/Trona Pinnacles

  • Red Rock Canyon State Park

  • Joshua Tree

  • Palm Springs

  • Silverlake/LAX
